The Corvette from the top picture is a 1962 Corvette seen in a display about Route 66 in a famous hotel in Las Vegas. It was a nice teaser for what we would experience later while driving on the famous ROUTE 66. We joined the route while leaving the Grand Canyon on the way to Los Angeles. We joined on section 19 near Williams and on section 20 to make sure we could see the unique Hackberry store ! Thank you to Dick and Cathy from Page who gave us this very precious advice. The store is a very pleasant place kept alive by a young lady with her father. He is owning and driving a very beautiful 1957 Corvette which was displayed in front of the store.
Driving on this route and seeing such cars and places gives you a very strange feeling between places like Las Vegas and Los Angeles. It is really travelling back in time. Very enjoyable !
My son (19 years old now) promissed me one day we would go back and travel the Route 66 together when I will be retired (well, still many years to wait ...)
